Babies and Tots rooms


At Helping Hands Daycare, the babies room caters for babies from 6 weeks to 18 months. It has a separate sleep room, nappy changing facilities and bottle feeding area. The room is located next to the tots room and has an adjoining door, allowing for social interaction. The large south facing windows provide lots of natural light, providing a bright, warm and stimulating environment.

The equipment in the babies room has been carefully selected, with a soft play area to encourage physical development for crawling and climbing with various sensory features , baby gyms to encourage tummy time, reaching and stretching. There are treasure chests full of interesting materials and objects, enhancing their inquisitive nature at this stage and encouraging visual and tactile senses.

The tots room caters for children aged from 18  to 24 months, also with large south facing windows, it is bright, warm and welcoming. Play equipment has been chosen which encourages the children’s physical and cognitive  developmen, and it has its own nappy changing facilities and sleeping area. Adjoining doors to the babies’ room allows easy transitions and movement between the two rooms.  Low level tables and chairs which are easy to climb in to and out of, and accommodates the ‘knees first and then turn’ manoeuvre. A soft play area to encourage climbing and walking, and lots of messy time activities. Story time and rhymes with musical instruments coupled with lots of outdoor play on age appropriate equipment ensures babies and tots have a fun filled day at Helping Hands Daycare.

At Helping Hands Daycare we believe our staff are warm, open and friendly; as well as being highly trained professionals who recognise the importance of building a warm and nurturing environment for your little ones.  The setting is parent led and focuses on the child as an individual.  The staff will be only too happy to discuss your child’s individual routine and will be flexible to their needs.
